Installation¶

Browser support¶

Toolbox-NXG runs on Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc.) and Firefox.

Installing on Chrome (and other Chromium browsers)¶

Install Toolbox-NXG from the Chrome Web Store:

The same listing works on other Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge and Brave. Updates are delivered automatically by the browser.

Installing on Firefox¶

Install Toolbox-NXG from Firefox Add-ons (AMO):

Updates are delivered automatically by the browser.

Installing a release build manually (advanced)¶

You can also install a build directly from GitHub Releases — useful for testing a specific build.

Chromium¶

Download the latest chrome.zip release artifact and extract it.
Go to chrome://extensions.
Enable “Developer mode”.
Click “Load unpacked” and select the extracted directory.

Firefox¶

Download the latest firefox.zip release artifact.
Go to about:addons.
Click the gear icon → “Install Add-on From File…”.
Select the .zip file.

Updating¶

Builds installed from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons update themselves automatically. Builds installed manually from GitHub Releases do not — to update one of those, download the latest release artifact and repeat the installation steps above.
